Commissioned Tassels for The Grove

I was delighted to be asked by Martin Hulbert Design and The Grove to develop a group of 25 full height tassels for the entrance of The Grove, Herts.

It turned out to be quite a challenge! - that was installed just before Covid arrived.

It's always a pleasure to work with Martin and his team and we explored many options of blending different natural fibres together that we sourced from Australia, Japan, Ireland and the UK. Large hand carved wooden spheres from Asia, dried in warm air to promote cracking and colour change. Handmade Welsh beads in the style of African amber and hand turned copper metal balls from a South Coast maker.
